Loan services and returning of documents
Library of Palacký University provides in-house use for studying in the library and also loan services for studying outside of the library. Charge out services are limited to students of Palacký University, employees of university and other categories of users (eg. Graduates). Teachers and doctoral students participating in teaching can borrow even in-house use documents. As a library card works your ID card (ISIC).
Returning of documents via book drop
Borrowed documents can be returned out of opening hours of the library via the book drop (bibliobox). Documents will be write off the user's account no later than the following working day. Book drop is located in the area of Armoury, in front of these buildings: the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, the Faculty of Science (Envelopa) and the Faculty of Physical Culture (Neředín).
Reader's account (My account in Library)
Serves to control, loan renewal of borrowed documents and reservation of borrowed documents. For the establishment of a reader's account, users can apply directly in the library at circulation desk A and at all other branches of library, can be requested personally at the appropriate library.
Ordering documents from depository library
Documents that are stored in depository of Central Library, can be requested via reader's account. Documents are accesible to study one hour after the request. Documents that are stored in depositories at branches of library, can be requested personally at the appropriate library.
Loan renewal of documents
You can extend only documents that has not been reserved by another reader. An extension is possible via reader's account or personally at the library, by phone (585 631 749) or via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). Each document can only be extended three times.
Reservation of the documents
You can make a reservation of borrowed documents only via reader's account. Reader picks up reserved document at the branch he had chosen.

Borrowing in-library books into the night study room
Readers can borrow books for in-library reading and studiyng into the owernight study room from 1st November 2017. You can borrow books one hour before the library closes. It is necessary to return the books the next day by 9:00 AM. Readers can borrow a maximum of 15 books. Category A readers can have a maximum of 25 books. The books for overnight use have to be returned into the special box situated in the night study room. In the case of late return you will be fined 50,- Kč for each individual book per hour. Enter and exit from the space of reading room is every hour (+/- 10 minutes) with your ID card (ISIC). Enter is possible from street Biskupské náměstí 1 (on the porter's side).
Interlibrary loan services (ILL)
Through interlibrary loan services readers can request from other libraries in the Czech Republic and abroad books and journal articles that are not available in the library of Palacky University or in other libraries in Olomouc.
Contacts and requests
The interlibrary loan service is provided free of charge. The user will pay only the price of copying services charged by other libraries and postage costs eventually incurred if the document is obtained by means of an electronic delivery service; see the Price list of charges and paid services.

The Department of Information Education offers teachers and academic staff training within which students learn to work with electronic information resources and after which they will be more efficient in searching documents for their work. The content of the training and its scope can be arranged. The most frequent topics are the right search strategy, search in catalogue and in licensed databases, paid by the university or ISO 690 citations.

Printing, copying, scanning
Self-service copying and printing machines are available at all library branches. The copying is a paid service based on ID card with a pre-paid credit.
Credit for ID cards (chip cards, ISIC)
Users can prepay a credit (a minimum price 10 Kč) for copying and printing on self-service machines. The credit is paid at the "A" counter in the Armoury, and at the loan counters of other branches. Unused credit is transfered to the next school year. When a user gets a new ID (loss, damage), credit is transferred to the new ID automatically. After the conclusion of studies, the credits are paid back on demand.
Self-service scanning is free of charge.
Night Reading Room
The space in the ground floor of the Central Library is designed for night studies. Users can connect their own competers to the campus network eduroam (WiFi). Night reading room is equipped with dining and beverage vending machines and private toilet. Enter and exit from the space of reading room is every hour (+/- 10 minutes) with your ID card (ISIC). Enter is possible from street Biskupské náměstí 1 (on the porter's side). Surveillance in the study performs nightly guard service at the reception (phone 1102). The study room is open all day.

Petanque course in Armoury courtyard is freely accesible to the public. We offer playing balls for rent - on reception on the ground floor of the library (ISIC).

You have a 5 % discount on Cambridge English courses (FCE, CAE, CPE); pretests and consulting service are free. The annual registration fee the British Centre is 100 crowns.

You pick up the card in the armory building (Biskupské náměstí 1). You need to have photo. You pay 200 crowns for card.
